GGG vs Derevyanchenko Boxing Fight Live

GGG vs Derevyanchenko Boxing Fight Live :: This might not be a rematch against Canelo Alvarez, but with a vacant IBF middleweight title on the line, Gennadiy Golovkin has more than enough incentive to come prepared for a fight against Sergiy Derevyanchenko on Oct. 5.

“GGG” and his fans believed the longtime unified middleweight champion had done enough in both efforts against Alvarez to not only avoid the first draw and subsequent loss, but come away with his arm raised in both matchups. Instead, Golovkin took his first professional draw and loss in Septembers 2017 and 2018, respectively.

Alvarez is moving up two weight classes to set up a Nov. 2 fight with Sergey Kovalev, but this will be a chance for Golovkin to re-establish himself as the premier middleweight fighter. Golovkin once held the WBA (Super) and WBC middleweight world titles, as well as the IBF middleweight between 2010 and 2018.

As for Derevyanchenko, this will be a chance to claim the title belt that was vacated because Alvarez could not come to an agreement to fight him. Derevyanchenko was the IBF mandatory challenger to Alvarez, who instead wanted to fight Demetrius Andrade, the WBO middleweight belt holder, for a chance to unify the WBO, IBF and WBA belts.

Derevyanchenko has fought for the vacant IBF middleweight belt before when he took on Daniel Jacobs on Oct. 27, 2018, losing by a split decision. Jacobs was then beaten in an unanimous decision by Alvarez on May 4.

Here’s a complete guide to the Gennadiy Golovkin vs. Sergiy Derevyanchenko fight, which is available exclusively for streaming on DAZN rather than traditional pay-per-view, along with updated betting odds, who’s on the undercard and more.
